The academic staff
at Trinity teach with high academic rigour but in the context of Christian

that come from years of time spent in real parish or missionary work.

Principal Lecturer
in New Testament and Pastoral units
Donald West
BCom, ThL, BD(Hons), MA, PhD
Prior to his
involvement in Trinity Theological College and the Perth Centre for Applied
Christian Studies (PCACS), Don and his wife, Athena, served in Anglican churches
in Sydney for fourteen years. In addition to his role as Principal, Don teaches
biblical theology, Old and New Testament exegesis and leadership. His PhD
focussed on the nature of petitionary prayer in the New Testament.

Ian Malcolm
BA(Hons), DipEd, PhD, LSDA
Ian
is the former Professor of Applied Linguistics at Edith Cowan University and is
engaged in ongoing consultancy on the linguistic and communicative needs of
Aboriginal people. Having many years’ experience in charge of a university
faculty, department and research centre, he is applying his administrative,
educational and pastoral skills to the further development of Trinity.

Martin Foord
BSc, BD(Hons), DipMin, MTh
Before joining our
faculty in 2000, Marty worked as a part time evangelist in Sydney, and was on
the ministry team of a large church in Manly. His main teaching areas are
systematic theology and church history. Marty’s master’s thesis research focused
on Richard Hooker’s doctrine of justification and he is currently working
towards a doctorate on the doctrine of the gospel in seventeenth century
England. Marty is passionate about the church as God’s great vehicle of mission,
and the gospel as news for the public square.

Allan Chapple
BA, ThL, BD(Hons), PhD
Allan has pastored
churches in WA and England, taught in an inter-denominational theological
college in Malaysia, and served as Perth staff worker for the Australian
Fellowship of Evangelical Students (AFES). He was the founding director of the
Perth Centre for Applied Christian Studies (PCACS), before becoming the
Principal of Trinity. He is married to Alison and they have three children.

Senior Lecturer - Old Testament
David L Baker
BA (Hons), CertEd, PhD
David
moved to Perth in 2008 from Cambridge, England where he worked at Tyndale House
for seven years. Prior to that David spent 25 years as a theological educator in
Indonesia with OMF. He wrote, edited, and organised the translation of many
texts into Indonesian and was also Old Testament advisor for a Bible translation
in a local language. He is married to Elizabeth and they have three children. |

Tony Nichols BA, MEd, BD(Hons), ThSchol, MA(Hons),
PhD
Tony has served as
Bishop of the Diocese of North West Australia and with CMS. He has taught
biblical languages and exegesis at Moore Theological College (Sydney) and Satya
Wacana Christian University (Salatiga, Indonesia). Tony has also been the
principal of Nungalyina College (Darwin) and St Andrew's Hall (Melbourne), which
is the CMS Missionary Training Centre. |

Judith Nichols BA, ThL, MLit
Together with her
husband, Tony, Judith served with the Church Missionary Society (CMS) for
nineteen years firstly in Indonesia and then among Australian indigenous people
and subsequently training missionary candidates for overseas service. She has
four adult children and six grandchildren. In addition to supporting Tony in his
ministry, she has worked as an adult educator at RMIT, Melbourne and Geraldton
TAFE running workshops on literacy, ESL and cross cultural communication. Until
recently she taught at Greenough Regional Prison. |
